A writing platform rooted in community.

Campfire is a more recent addition to the range of writing applications on offer. It started as Campfire Pro in October 2018 (first conceived of in August) and was initially created by Jason Louro to keep himself organised writing a screenplay.

Although it only made three sales to begin with, it also saw one Jackson Dickert get in touch, offering to take over the marketing efforts for the new software. Jackson quickly proved himself, leading not only to a thousand new users, but the basis for a Kickstarter for Campfire Blaze.

Campfire Pro had its last major update in October 2019. Campfire Blaze was then supported and updated, until things took a different turn in June 2021.

Campfire Blaze would be replaced with a new Campfire, one which would keep and expand upon the prior writing tools, but embed it within a cooperative, collaborative creative community supported by a platform which would allowed creators to share and create with each other.

Campfire is that platform and comes in both offline versions for Windows and Mac computers as well as an online version and a mobile app.
